THE BOOK FAIR CONTINUES!

October 16th thru 19th

Thank you Wyatt Families for a fantastic turnout for Friday’s Family Night Book Fair and Picnic! It was great seeing so many families shopping and dining together.

The Book Fair continues this week with class visits beginning on Monday. You are invited to come and shop with your child during their class visit or come and volunteer to help. You may also send your child with cash or check (payable to Wyatt PTA) and volunteers will help them shop within their budget. Don’t forget to include 8.25% sales tax! See the class schedule below.

Grands Day (Grandparents, Relatives, Aunts and Uncles, Neighbors, Devoted Caretakers) at the Book Fair will be on Wednesday, October 18th. Grands are invited to join your child for lunch and book shopping during their grade level’s lunch period. Grades with a combined lunch and recess period may use recess for additional Book Fair shopping time. Tables will be setup in the school hallway to allow room for additional visitors to sit and eat.

Please visit http://www.scholastic.com/bf/wyatt for volunteer opportunities as we still have many openings during class visits. Don’t forget, all purchases benefit our school and money earned will go towards new books for our library and classrooms as well as the general PTA fund.

ARTS IN EDUCATION - REFLECTIONS

Reflections is presented by the National PTA through our Texas PTA chapters, as an opportunity for our Wyatt Elementary artists to receive recognition for their original works of art. Students may enter more than once in a single category, or in multiple categories, with an entry form for each submission. Entry form and Guidelines for each style area are available at http://www.txpta.org/programs/reflections/participate/ .

The theme for this school year is "Within Reach".

WYATT PTA - AUTHOR VISIT AND BOOK SIGNING

Thursday, November 2nd

What would you do if your child wanted a dog, a cat, a rabbit or a hamster? How about a reptile? What if your child wanted a LLAMA?

That’s what happened when a little boy fell in love with llamas. He asked his mom if he could have not one, not two, but five llamas—a whole pack! His mother said yes, if he first learned about them. Follow the adventure of this little boy as he shares 30 interesting facts about llamas from head to toe. Find out the funny names he gives his llamas that come to live at ShangriLlama Farm. And don’t forget to search for the llama beans hidden on every page!

PROUD TO BE A HEALTHY ZONE SCHOOL

Wyatt has been promoted to a Healthy Zone School, making it one of only 161 North Texas schools to participate in this prestigious program. Through this program, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and The Cooper Institute select schools to be recognized for their excellence in health programs. School selection is based on the school’s physical activity programs, nutrition policies and health promotions. This year Wyatt will receive $1500 for use in purchasing PE equipment as well as health and nutrition related materials for students and staff. Thanks Wyatt community for supporting our efforts to be healthy.

2017-2018 YEARBOOKS ~ ORDER TODAY
