FIRE PREVENTION POSTER CONTEST

“LOOK. LISTEN. LEARN. BE AWARE. FIRE CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE”

“LOOK” for places fire could start. Take a good look around your home. Identify potential fire hazards and take care of them.

“LISTEN” for the sound of the smoke alarm. You could have only minutes to escape safely once the smoke alarm sounds. Go to your outside meeting place, which should be a safe distance from the home and where everyone should know to meet.

“LEARN” two ways out of every room and make sure all doors and windows leading outside open easily and are free of clutter.

The contest is open to all students grades Kg-5th grade and the following grades will fall into four divisions:

1. Kindergarten Division – Kg

2. Primary Division – Grades 1 and 2

3. Intermediate Division – Grades 3 and 4

4. Middle Division – Grade 5

Posters are due in to the office by Wednesday, October 10th. Please make a note of this due date - posters that are handed in after that date will not be eligible to win.

Award Ceremony for City contest winners will be on October 24th. Students will be notified by the Plano Fire Department if their posters are selected in the citywide contest for recognition.

Get Your Yearbook Today!

Don't delay! Yearbooks capture all the great memories for the school year that your child will enjoy for years to come!  The price is $25.

We are so excited Wyatt students will have the opportunity to participate in a nationally recognized arts program again. PTA Reflections encourages students of all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts.

Annually, thousands of students across America will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. The 2018-19 theme is “Heroes Around Me”.

From September 3rd 2018 you will be able to collect an entry form and general rules from the school office and we will also be sending these home with your child later that week.

Completed entry forms and art can be dropped off in the “Heroes Around Me” box in the school office.  The deadline is Wednesday October 31st 2018.  Click here to learn more.

PROUD TO BE A HEALTHY ZONE SCHOOL

Wyatt has been promoted to a Healthy Zone School, making it one of only 161 North Texas schools to participate in this prestigious program. Through this program, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and The Cooper Institute select schools to be recognized for their excellence in health programs. School selection is based on the school’s physical activity programs, nutrition policies and health promotions. This year Wyatt will receive $1500 for use in purchasing PE equipment as well as health and nutrition related materials for students and staff. Thanks Wyatt community for supporting our efforts to be healthy.
