Dear Wyatt Families,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I'm a little sad to say goodbye to summer and the carefree days of sleeping in and having the kids throw on flip-flops to head out the door. However, back-to-school excitement is starting to kick in around our house and I've always been a sucker for new school supplies, first day of school outfits and our awesome school. Wyatt truly is a special place where our children not only get the very best education, but a lot of love as well. My kids are excited to get back to the teachers and friends they adore and the thrill of a busy day at Wyatt. Many of the experiences that set Wyatt apart are made possible by the Wyatt PTA and programs such as field trips, author visits, classroom grants, field day, flexible seating, technology, classroom supplies and more. The PTA also strives to strengthen our Wyatt community with social events throughout the year and programs to increase school spirit and camaraderie. We sincerely hope that EVERY family at Wyatt will not only join the PTA and contribute a small membership fee to help fund our programs, but find ways to become involved in the school and the community. We invite you all to attend the socials and meetings throughout the year and get to know your neighbors as well as the Wyatt teachers and staff. We also have many opportunities for every parent and grandparent to join in the fun of volunteering to enrich your child's school experience. Please take a moment to sign up to volunteer and we will find the perfect fit for you, even if it's just a 30-minute lunch duty shift or a take-home project to help a teacher, every little bit helps. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me or any of the other PTA Board members listed on the PTA website if you have questions about how to volunteer or get involved. Please use the PTA website and the PTA Facebook group as resources for information about all the exciting things going on at Wyatt throughout the year. Right now you can find lots of important information about the start of the year, including spirit wear and yearbook orders, as well as membership and volunteer info.

We are currently in need of several chairs and coordinators for our PTA programs so please take a look and see if you could help. Remember we need your memberships, donations and volunteer efforts to make this a great year here at Wyatt! I'm looking forward to my first year as Wyatt PTA President and doing my best to continue the great work the Wyatt PTA has done to serve our school. My husband Chris and I, as well as our daughters, Blake (7th grade at Rice Middle School), Emma (4th) and Molly (1st) are so thankful for our Wyatt family. If I haven't had the opportunity to meet you, I hope that I will soon.

Best wishes for a great school year!
