Dear Wyatt Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
If your family is new to Wyatt Elementary, I warmly welcome you! If you are a "seasoned" Wallaroo family, I know you too are excited to reconnect with our awesome school. Back-to-school excitement is definitely in full force at our house!
Last year was obviously different than anything we have ever experienced, but we made it through and it was really only accomplished with the support of our amazing Wyatt Family. We all hope that we can get back to “normal” this year, but as always, we will be flexible to the needs of the students and our school. There may still be a lot of unknowns right now, but what I do know is that our PTA will serve our students, faculty, and staff as best we can, just like we do every year. With your help, this will be a wonderful and memorable year of “making magic happen”.
Wyatt truly is a magical place where our children not only get the very best education, but a lot of love as well. Many of the experiences that set Wyatt apart are made possible by the Wyatt PTA through programs such as field trips, author visits, classroom grants, field day, flexible seating, technology, classroom supplies and more. Your membership dues help to support all of these.
The PTA also strives to strengthen our Wyatt community with social events throughout the year and programs to increase school spirit and camaraderie. We sincerely hope that EVERY family at Wyatt will not only join the PTA and contribute a small membership fee to help fund our programs, but find ways to become involved in the school and the community. We have many opportunities for every family member to join in the fun of volunteering to enrich your child's school experience.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me or any of the other PTA Board members listed on the PTA website if you have questions about how to volunteer or get involved. Please use the PTA website and the PTA Facebook group as resources for information about all the exciting things going on at Wyatt throughout the year. Right now you can find lots of important information about the start of the year, including spirit wear and yearbook orders, as well as membership and volunteer info.
As a Wyatt PTA member, you are a voice for our students and part of the largest child advocacy program in the world. PTA is committed to making every child's potential a reality. It is a very rewarding experience! You do not have to volunteer at the school to be a member, but we love when you do!
We are still in need of a few chairs and coordinators for our PTA programs, so please take a look and see if you could help. Remember we need your memberships, donations, and volunteer efforts to make this another great year here at Wyatt! Thank you in advance for your contributions, time, and commitment to our organization, our teachers, and most importantly, our students!
I'm looking forward to my first year as Wyatt PTA President and doing my best to continue the great work the Wyatt PTA has done to serve our school. My husband David and I, as well as our sons, Ryan (7th grade at Rice Middle School), and William (3rd grade) are extremely thankful for our Wyatt family. If I haven't had the opportunity to meet you, I hope that I will soon.
Best wishes for a great school year!
Sarah St. Louis
