Volunteering

Get Involved — Volunteer!

What makes our PTA great is all of the wonderful parents and community members that share their time
with Wyatt throughout the year. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities in terms of time commitment, time of year commitment and project scope so we are confident that there is something for everyone’s skills and schedules.

Here are just some of the opportunities we have:

  • Be a Science Fair Judge
  • Class Reader
  • Donations for our Annual Auction
  • Take Pictures for the Yearbook
  • Process Cafeteria Recycling
  • Class Prep for Teachers
  • Clip & Count Box Tops
  • Library Volunteer
  • Lunch Duty Helper
  • Field Day Volunteer
  • Share Your Career During College Week
  • Dads Club Volunteer

You can check out the complete list of volunteer opportunities to choose from online on our Volunteers page. On the check list, you'll see jobs that can be done at home or after hours to accommodate working families, parents with young children at home, etc. We encourage you to sign up to do a few things throughout the year.

If you have any questions about volunteering at Wyatt or need help deciding how you will share your time with our students and faculty, please contact our VP of Volunteers, Felicity Sumner, at volunteers@wyattpta.org.

PISD Online Volunteer Application

For the safety of our children, our school district requires that all volunteers complete the PISD volunteer application and background check before volunteering or attending class parties on campus. To do this, volunteers are asked to complete an application that is found online at www.pisd.edu/volunteer. You will need to renew your volunteer application / background check each year.

Instructions:
Go to the PISD website at www.pisd.edu/volunteer.
Scroll down and click on "Online Volunteer Application". If you volunteered for the previous school year, click on "Returning Volunteer". You will be asked for your User ID and Password that you created when you first completed the online volunteer application. If this is your first time to volunteer in PISD or you have never completed the online volunteer application, click on the second option "New Volunteer" and follow the instructions.

Library VOLUNTEERS

The Wyatt Library is always in need of volunteers during the school year. Volunteers shelve books, check out books to students, and help our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Armstrong with various projects in the library.
